    BEACON Consideration

    Hello bloggers,

As you may or may not know, I've decided to undertake a small venture with this Space, the introduce of the BEACON Awards, designed to place the spotlight (no pun intended) on Spaces of deserved excellence. BEACON stands as a curious acronym for The Blatant Expositor Award for Cyberspace Objects of Notable Success. The mechanics of the system will be explained at a later date. Until then, use this blog entry to submit your Space for consideration. It can also be found in the "Important" section of my Space.

Enjoy and good luck. Please provide me some feedback on your thoughts, queries or concerns regarding the system.

    -The Blatant Expositor
    Director of the BEACON Awards

Ah, it is a belatedly late entry but I suppose I'll enter. Might as well, have nothing to lose. One hopes to win something at least.

Hey, guess I am not in yet.  Consider this an official self-nomination.  Hail, hail, the gang's all here...

I shall be honoured, delighted and anything else synonymous with either word to enter myself to compete in such a competition with such esteemed other er... competitors. In totally cool, laidback, nonchalant style I would just like to say: "Pick me, pick me, pick me!!!!"

Well.... what a nice idea. If you like, enter me. I'm looking forward to reading all these folk here, and then possibly retiring totally from the event. I'm not blogging much these days like I used to, but I do come back to it.

Sounds like a good idea. Some of my older work seems to be more enjoyed than my recent entries because I really haven't have the time that I once did.

Well, barbecue me in slightly stale linseed oil - I jolly well shall enter.  And damn the eyes of anyone impersonating Emile Zola who says otherwise!

As long I don't have to do much else except shout "count me in" - I'm pretty lazy you see.

Haha, I just read that entry, and realised I've been made a foooool.

And yes, all those extra o's were completely necessary, thank you very much.

    Tee hee.

Wouldn't that acronym be BEACONS?   It would seem that "Success" was a fairly important word in the award name...
You could ad the UnBEACON awards:
It would be awesome to see awards such as
    Lamest My-Friends-are-so-cool blog
    Most vapid celebrity worshipping site
    Least thought-out political bloviation
    Least original Love-that-deity
    Most gag-inducing my-pet-is-nearly-human site
Parental site that most strongly induces a desire to smack the children depicted

Ok, you have twisted my arm enough. I'll enter :)

Are you going to make some fancy little graphics for each award? You know, something to put on the winner's space? That would be awesome.

If you consider me worthy, I would be glad to enter.  I appreciate those who read my thoughts and that is what they are- nothing contrived or calculated, the purest slice of the mind which ebbs and flows; almost crudely like scooping the foam form the sea if you get the rather romanticised analogy.  That said, it is often difficult to translate pure thought into words, thus my writing may suffer from certain WTF symptoms.

    Much appreciated.

Perhaps there will be an award for Best Self-Depreciating Inner Dialog or possibly a WTF? award, I may have a chance. In the name self-confidence, I digress; and in the name of rash over-confidence I submit my Space and hope to win everything.
